What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art and Design Adjunct - Studio Art position at North Carolina Central University?
Primary Purpose Of Position
The NCCU Department of Art and Design has an immediate need for an adjunct in Studio Art (e.g.: Painting and Drawing). Inspired art and design educators will teach up to 3 courses within their areas of specialization, as listed above. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree, professional experience, as well as a passion for teaching. This adjunct professor will prepare students for careers in the field through in-person lecture and studio-based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting-edge creative approaches. For the Fall 2026 semester, creative individuals are needed to teach the following in-person class: Painting I: Painting and Color Theory (3 credit hours) Monday/Wednesday 5:00 pm – 7:45 pm Based on past teaching experience, candidates will also be considered for Introduction to Art History (Art History for non-majors, 2 credit hours) Tuesday/Thursday 5:15 pm – 6:05 pm. Opportunities to teach may be available in the Spring 2027 semester. Course availability and schedules can vary each semester.
