Description
Assembles and organizes all instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for each specific surgical procedure. Assists in instrument handling and procedure techniques as requested by the surgeon. Maintains a sterile field and technique to assure good patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Graduate of a professional school earning surgical technology degree.
- Complete Certified Surgical Technology Exam within 1 year of hire.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.
- Ability and willingness to work with patients’ growth and development needs particularly related to the age of patients in the unit/area(s) of assignment.
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain clinical competency as required for the unit/area(s) of assignment.
- Ability to manage a chaotic work environment.
