(NBEC), a trusted electrical, security, and industrial automation contractor based in Leland, North Carolina, has been serving Wilmington and the greater Cape Fear region since 1975, and is seeking an experienced customer service-oriented electrician to join our team.

Job details

This role is ideal for a veteran electrician who excels at diagnosing and solving complex electrical problems. Many service calls involve older installations or systems without blueprints or schematics, so strong troubleshooting ability, sound judgment, and a thorough understanding of electrical theory and installation methods and techniques are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical faults in the residential, commercial and industrial environments, including high voltage and low voltage circuits, single-phase and three-phase systems, including 120/208V, 120/240V, and 277/480V systems.
• Install and service panels, feeders, disconnects, lighting systems, and distribution equipment.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical components such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), circuit breakers, conduits, switches, and control panels.
• Perform conduit installations, including Rigid, Plasti-bond/Ocal, and Stainless Steel raceways.
• Troubleshoot motors and controls.
• Work safely and in compliance with OSHA and MSHA standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and other trades.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company well when interacting with customers.

Requirements

• Pass a drug screening (required)
• Pass a background check (required)
• Possess a valid and clean NC driver's license (required)
• Possess a megohmmeter (highly desirable)
• Arc-weld proficiently (highly desirable)
• Operate a mini excavator proficiently (highly desirable)
