JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s Degree and/or experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in related field;
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in secretarial work, human resources, preferably in a school district or public sector;
Experience working in a professional office setting. Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook):
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including education-related regulations;
Knowledge of educator licensure requirements and certification processes (preferred);
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills;
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information;
REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Superintendent’s Designee
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 months; Full-time (40 hours/week)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages and oversees all human resources functions for the school district;
Coordinates recruitment, screening, hiring, and onboarding of certified and classified staff;
Ensures compliance with district policies, state and federal laws, and accreditation requirements;
Maintains accurate personnel records, including licensure, contracts, and employment documentation;
Monitors educator licensure and certification to ensure all staff meet state requirements;
Administers employee benefits, leave (FMLA, sick, personal), and retirement systems;
Advises principals and district leaders on employee relations, discipline, and personnel matters;
Collaborates with payroll to ensure accurate employee compensation and reporting;
Assists with preparation for audits, accreditation reviews, and state monitoring visits;
Develops and delivers HR-related training for administrators and staff;
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Investigates employee complaints, grievances, and workplace concerns
- Supports principals with staffing allocations and personnel planning
- Assists with substitute and paraprofessional staffing coordination
- Monitors compliance with teacher contracts and district policies
- Prepares reports related to staffing, turnover, and personnel data
- Assists with policy development and updates for the school board
- Supports risk management, workplace safety, and employee wellness initiatives
