What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide PRN position at North Big Horn Hospital District?
PRN Position Available.
Applicant must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for following patient menus accurately on the tray make-up line and for the proper cleaning and sanitation for soiled dishes, and pots and pans. Also responsible for serving in the cafeteria, no cooking responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES:
1. Prepares salads, coffee, and desserts in accordance to meal schedules.
2. Prepares late trays as required.
3. Prepares and delivers nourishments to nursing stations as required.
4. Delivers food carts to designated places and ensures that carts are returned to the kitchen.
5. Collects and removes trash and garbage to designated containers.
6. Cleans work areas, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas, and other areas assigned in accordance with established procedures.
7. Washes dishes, cookware, flatware, and trays by using approved procedures.
8. Follows patient menus accurately in the tray make-up line.
9. Answers the telephone and delivers items to units.
10. Unloads groceries and places them in appropriate locations.
11. Works as a team member with other dietary staff to ensure smooth running of department.
12. Follows food service dress code.
13. Puts up stock using proper storage procedures.
Desirable: Knowledge of food preparation and food safety. Dealing with high volume workflow. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
