What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance II- Full-Time position at North Big Horn Hospital and Careers?
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing preventative maintenance on all systems equipment, fire alarm systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems, beds, scales and cosmetic repairs of hardware and structures. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and orders parts and supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES:
1. Maintains and cares for those facilities, spaces, and shops that involved in Electrical, Painting, Steam Generation, Emergency Power Generation, Vehicle Maintenance and Grounds.
2. Extend safety activities through out the total physical plant.
3. Shall be thoroughly familiar with equipment, devices, controls, machine and work procedures as assigned.
4. Maintains the complex in a clean and safe environment.
5. On constant vigil for hazards involving fire, personnel, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing conditions which directly effect the operation of the hospital.
6. To assist nursing and ambulance personnel as needed.
7. Keep plant records.
8. Monitors all scheduled maintenance and assigns staff members to complete as needed.
9. Orders parts and supplies for the maintenance department and maintains records associated with this responsibility.
10. Takes call as needed.
11. Others duties assigned by the Maintenance Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has a responsibility to report concerns to the Maintenance Director.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The Technician must be able to operate a variety of lawn and garden equipment, mechanized cleaning equipment and hand and power tools; be able to learn and follow established policies and procedures; be able to follow verbal and written instructions; be able to understand manufacturers specifications; be able to read blueprints/schematics and recognize, investigate, analyze problems and correct them.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least one (1) year of experience in the healthcare.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, and write English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to add, subtract, and convert formula data for the required mixing of chemicals.
REASONING SKILLS: Must be able to plan and complete work activities so that disruption to the hospital and care center operation is minimized and determine whether to replace or repair an item or piece of equipment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: It is necessary for the position to possess a current valid drivers license and be insurable. It is helpful to have certifications in work related areas, but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Crouches, kneels, stoops, stands, walks, reaches, pushes and pulls equipment.
2. Lifts and carries equipment.
3. Shovels.
4. Climbs on stairs and ladders.
