Position Description
As an Occupational Therapist you will plan, organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to help rehabilitate those impaired because of illness, injury or psychological or developmental problems. In order to treat patients properly and accordingly, you will test and evaluate their physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for patients.
Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Select rehabilitative and therapeutic activities and exercises based on medical and social history of residents.
- Interview resident to determine type of treatments needed and schedule therapy, as ordered.
- Assist residents in ambulatory training, as necessary.
- Recommend modifications and changes in the resident’s therapy treatment as indicated.
- Ensure that all therapist notes are informative, follow guidelines, and are descriptive of the care provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree and license from a board-certified program in occupational therapy.
- Licensure in the state of practice.
- CPR Certification is required.
