We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in animal care and veterinary procedures, demonstrating proficiency in animal handling, laboratory work, and clinical support. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting veterinarians with patient care, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
- Provide compassionate animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff during examinations and treatments.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results with precision and confidentiality.
- Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery post-procedures.
- Conduct animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and ensuring proper animal physiology management.
- Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting pet dental health initiatives.
- Operate radiographic equipment (X-ray) to produce clear images for diagnostic purposes while adhering to safety protocols.
- Handle diverse species including dogs, cats, and equine patients with expertise in animal anatomy knowledge and dog training techniques when applicable.
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary clinic setting is required.
- Kennel experience is preferred for managing boarding animals effectively.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and veterinary critical care practices is essential.
- Laboratory experience involving diagnostic testing enhances your ability to contribute effectively to clinical workflows.
- Experience with equine care is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant animal handling skills across species are valued.
