Summary/Purpose
Receives, stores, and issues line materials, equipment, merchandise for resale, tools, and safety equipment in a stockroom or storeroom and/or pole yard. Performs all aspects of coordination for a full-service warehouse, including inventory. Provide general maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the typical duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties and may include other duties as assigned. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of NAEC. All employees are expected to work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and regulations at all times. Typical responsibilities include:
· Maintain proper level of inventory. Provide requisition to purchasing agent for orders in a timely manner. Receive and account for materials and stock shelves.
· Read staking sheets, issue material and account for material issued for construction or maintenance.
· Routinely update bar coding and labeling of material.
· Routinely check actual inventory/cost against daily inventory. If adjustments need to be made to the inventory, those adjustments should be coordinated with accounting.
· Operate handheld computers for issuing, receiving, and inventorying materials.
· Ensure neat appearance of outside of building and grounds.
· Work with crews as requested to restore power.
· Assist other departments as requested.
· Check material received against receiving slip/purchase order to ensure accuracy of shipment.
· Assist drivers’ loading/unloading transformers and other material when requested with the use of the forklift.
· Pick up supplies when necessary from local suppliers.
· Keep warehouse orderly and stores material in proper place.
· Keep inside and outside storage areas neat and orderly at all times.
· Manage and place orders for fuel inventory.
· Pre-assemble meter loops as jobs require.
· Keep all conductor storage sheds clean, neat, and orderly

Qualifications

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and one to two years’ experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Training in RUS system of engineering units.
CDL license, preferred but not required
Grounds maintenance
Forklift
Basic knowledge of personal computer with ability to enter and use data through use of standard keyboard
Training to obtain working knowledge of computer program as it pertains to warehouse operations
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write/complete routine reports such as time sheets, accident reports.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers and the general public.
Ability to solve problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to interact with customers and other employees in a courteous and proper manner.
Ability to plan work and to properly instruct others.
Should have good working knowledge of RUS specifications, National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, OSHA Rules and Regulations and all Cooperative policies and procedures and Service Rules and Regulations and Rates.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
General warehouse conditions, both inside and outside, with irregular hours as deemed necessary by the position. Requires the physical ability of lifting sufficient weight to accomplish tasks described above, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, grasping, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and other defined light work.

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, including normal warehouse setting.
