CDL Driver Recruiting & Retention Coordinator
North American Transport Services (NATS) is hiring a Driver Recruiting & Retention Coordinator for our growing Indianapolis terminal operation.
This is a trucking operations recruiting role focused on:
- CDL-A driver recruiting
- Driver onboarding
- Driver retention
- Orientation coordination
- Recruiting pipeline management
- Supporting fleet growth in the Midwest region
We are looking for someone who understands trucking operations, driver communication, and fast-paced transportation environments.
You will work directly with operations leadership to help grow both:
- OTR operations
- Regional fleet operations
Responsibilities
Driver Recruiting
- Recruit CDL-A drivers for OTR and Regional operations
- Source drivers through Indeed, referrals, CDL schools, social media, and recruiting platforms
- Conduct driver pre-screening calls
- Explain pay packages, home time, and operational expectations clearly
- Maintain active follow-up with driver applicants
- Coordinate orientation, scheduling, and onboarding
Driver Retention & Support
- Build relationships with newly hired drivers
- Support drivers during onboarding and first weeks of employment
- Help identify retention risks and communication gaps
- Assist with referral programs and driver engagement efforts
Operational Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Driver Managers
- Safety Department
- Planning
- Recruiting leadership
- Terminal leadership
- Help ensure trucks are seated efficiently
- Support onboarding and operational readiness
Local Recruiting Presence
- Support walk-in applicants at the Indianapolis terminal
- Build relationships with CDL schools and local driver communities
- Represent NATS at recruiting events and hiring initiatives
- Monitor local driver market trends and competitor activity
Qualifications
- Recruiting or transportation industry experience preferred
- CDL driver recruiting experience is a major plus
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Basic understanding of trucking operations and driver communication
- Experience with Indeed, Tenstreet, or recruiting platforms preferred
