Qualifications:
- SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE. SALARY IN POSTING IS NOT SALARY.
- Minimum of three years’ related experience.
- Previous improvements with ISO and/or CGMP implementation would be considered a valuable set.
- Understanding of Statistical Process controls would be considered an asset.
- Computer literate with both spreadsheet and word processing software. Experience with date base software would be considered an asset.
- Requires good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Previous supervisory experience would be considered an asset.
General Duties:
Responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance programs within the plant (includes ISO and CGMP). This involves an ongoing audit function, supervision of lab personnel, document control, review of test results, dealing with customer complaints, and participation in problem solving.
Specific Duties:
- Provide direct supervision to all laboratory staff.
- Review daily quality tests to ensure conformance to established product standards. When necessary, direct lab staff to re-test products. Capable of performing lab test as needed.
- Ensure that all incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections are performed in accordance with written procedures, customer requirements, and CGMP/ISO methodology.
- Ensure that all measuring devices are adequately calibrated and/or verified for accuracy in accordance with CGMP/ISO requirements.
- Ensure that all preventative maintenance procedures are followed including required documentation.
- Manage the handling of customer complaints and rejected goods. This includes investigation into the causes of non-conformance, recommendations for the disposition of the defective goods, recommendations for corrective action, and written response to customers when requested to do so.
- Follow-up on all corrective actions to ensure that they have been fully implemented and have been effective.
- Provide training to laboratory staff as required.
- Provide periodic updates on the status of quality within the plant.
- Maintains a regular dialogue with the appropriate management staff on quality issues.
- Maintain well organized files of all quality related documents.
- Coordinate periodic internal audits to ensure conformance with CGMP and ISO standards.
- Participates in all external audits by major customers, CGMP representatives, or ISO auditors.
- Recommend updates to quality standards when required.
- Prepare budgets for the QA department including costs associated with ISO, CGMP, and general support functions.
- Maintain ongoing contact with material suppliers re: conformance to material specifications. Conduct periodic audits of suppliers as required.
Orientation:
An individual with the qualification listed should be capable of maintaining full responsibility of the position within 8 months.
