PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Line. The Floor Operator works at the floor level in order to obtain the proper levels of

- Recording equipment readings and monitoring the auxiliary equipment that is located in

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Daily monitoring, inspections, and operation of the Furnace delivery, HSB, Roughing
utilizing all applicable work instructions.
- Complete Roughing Mill, Finishing Mill, and Downcoiler check lists minimum of once
- Complete hydraulic and lubrication check list minimum of twice per shift, notifying
- Perform visual scale pit pump checks minimum of once per shift.
- Perform the down coiler pinch roll inspection/grinding every campaign or as required.
- Changing roughing mill work rolls and back-up rolls and inspecting inside roughing mill
- Changing roughing mill wipers, roll cooling nozzles and descaling nozzles.
- Changing finishing mill work rolls and back-up rolls and inspecting inside finishing mill
- Changing finishing mill wipers, roll cooling nozzles and furnace coiler site glasses as
- Operating torches, oxy-acetylene and plasma, for scrap cutting and handling.
- Perform automatic banding machine and coil marking checks and maintenance as
- Perform strip inspection and dimensional checks as required.
- Operating overhead crane and fork truck for functions such as moving finished product,
cleaning out scale pits, loading/unloading operational materials, and moving equipment
around the Mill Bay, as required.
- Perform crane inspections daily.
- Take inventory or plate, scrap, and spare parts as required.
- Properly identifying coils and plates.
- Assist Furnace Entry with Slab Receiving and Campaign marking when needed.
- Maintaining good house-keeping on a daily basis, as well as house-keeping and
