Summary

The Product Manager I supports the planning, execution, and lifecycle management of assigned product lines. This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs (QA/RA), and external suppliers to execute portfolio plans, support product development activities, and ensure products meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements. The Product Manager I develops expertise in project management, product development, and lifecycle management skills while taking ownership of assigned projects and product initiatives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed.

  • Execute product portfolio plans and support lifecycle strategies established by leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities required to maintain, improve, and launch products.
  • Gather, document, and communicate customer, market, and sales requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating product opportunities, customer requests, and field issues.
  • Develop product requirements, specifications, and support documentation.
  • Create and maintain project plans, timelines, action items, and status updates.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to identify, evaluate, and qualify products, suppliers, and components required for new and existing offerings.
  • Work closely with QA/RA to understand product requirements, regulatory considerations, and testing needs.
  • Support supplier and contractor relationships through routine communication, issue resolution, and project coordination.
  • Participate in product verification activities, product evaluations, and testing to ensure conformance with product requirements.
  • Coordinate product samples and provide information for marketing, sales, and customer evaluations.
  • Assist with new product launches by ensuring cross-functional readiness and the completion of required deliverables.
  • Investigate product issues identified by customers, operations, or internal stakeholders and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Develop presentations, reports, and recommendations for management review.
  • Proactively identify risks, obstacles, and opportunities and recommend solutions.

  • Complete any tasks and/or projects assigned by the supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned


AUTHORITY

  • Research, analyze and consolidate information to develop business cases, product plans, project plans, and supporting product documentation.
  • This role has no direct reports


ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Provide appropriate products to be evaluated by external users to enhance performance
  • Identify and communicate quality criteria for products to be included in the product file and made available to Procurement for purchase
  • Conduct periodic reviews and sampling of products within product portfolio to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Ensure product-related materials, including literature, marketing collateral, and website content, are up to date and aligned with current product information.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, Business or a related technical degree preferred.


Experience:

  • 2 years of product management is preferred. Program management, engineering, or related field may be considered.
  • Experience with at least one significant product launch is preferred.
  • Knowledge of product development within healthcare, med device, textile, acute or tactical care is a plus.
  • A proven track record in working with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an action-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office products - Excel, PowerPoint, Word.


DEMANDS

Time and Availability

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours each week from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. or some variation thereof
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

  • Ability and willingness to travel 10%.
