The Family Office Analyst will be an integral part of the Family Office team, providing diversified support to the Director, Family Office and Investments as well as Family Members. This dynamic position involves overseeing accounting and finance deliverables, preparing detailed financial statements, and producing investment performance reports.
As a self-starter, the Family Office Analyst will contribute to the growth of the family office, actively participating in initiatives and gaining hands-on experience. In this role, the ideal candidate will be dynamic and versatile. They will have a strong finance and accounting background and the ability to navigate complex financial issues to find creative solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Investment Management:
- Assist in monitoring investment activities, evaluate performance, and propose adjustments while maintaining accurate books and records.
- Generate detailed investment reports and conduct research on existing and potential investments.
- Stay updated on market trends, presenting findings to the team and gaining exposure to a wide range of asset classes and investment types.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and analyses for the Director, providing insights into the family’s financial position and investment performance.
- Maintain schedules and reports needed for tax reporting.
- Monitor and evaluate financial trends, highlight potential areas for optimization.
Accounting & Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, and reconcile financial discrepancies related to investment and personal activities.
- Prepare capital calls and distributions, monitor cash balances within the various entities maintained.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of family and entity budgets.
- Provide input on financial forecasts and variances.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with team members to support overall family office objectives.
- Liaise with external partners, financial institutions, and relevant stakeholders.
Learning and Development:
- Proactively engage in continuous learning to develop expertise in accounting, finance, and investment analysis.
- Take initiative in acquiring new skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- All other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.*
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, finance, and investment analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates ability to assume ownership, work independently and achieve results.
- Experience with or willingness to learn investment strategies and reporting.
- Experience using PowerBI or similar Business Intelligence tools preferred.
