Employee Type: Temporary The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day administrative human resources functions and duties, to include generating reports, compiling and updating employee/applicant records, coordinating interviews and HR events, serving as a point of contact for employees, and completing other human resources administrative tasks as needed.
Job Description:
Essential Duties:
- Assist with meeting arrangements, paper and electronic filing, sorting and distribution of documents, data input, and employee functions.
- Assist with managing the employee information database as required.
- Assist with day-to-day human resources functions.
- Support special projects as requested.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with mine site staff and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws.
- Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, employment law regulations, and state and federal environmental regulations.
Other Duties:
- Assist other departments on an as-needed basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, office employees, and workforce.
- Advanced proofreading skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive material.
- Ability to identify potential problems and handle them appropriately.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Work effectively in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
- Recognize and respond effectively to unexpected situations and tight deadlines.
Education and Training:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, or a similar degree program from an accredited university.
