At North Alabama Shoals hospital our Geriatric Unit team is staffed 24/7 with physicians, nurses and staff who are trained in providing quality care. Our team combines advanced training with compassionate service to be ready for you or your family when you need it the most.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• One year of experience preferred. New grads welcomed to apply.

What you will do

• A Registered Nurse who possesses the clinical skills that allow for appropriate assessment of patient care needs and demonstrates accountability in coordinating age specific patient care.
• Serves as a clinical resource for staff on their assigned shift or unit.
• Coordinates patient care and delegates duties and responsibilities to staff and holds individuals accountable for outcomes achieved
• First line supervisor over a group of employees or a unit.

North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 198-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.
