The North Adams Public Schools is seeking (2) Speech and Language Pathologists. These positions are
subject to the North Adams Teachers Association contract ranging from $50,479 to $91,778 annually; commensurate with
years of experience and educational attainment.
Job Goal: To support students in reducing or eliminating speech disabilities that interfere with their ability to fully access
and benefit from the educational program
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a resource to school staff in developing and implementing effective oral communication and speech
improvement programs.
2. Provide individualized therapeutic services to students with speech, language, and hearing impairments.
3. Assist teachers in identifying, observing, and referring students with suspected communication disorders.
4. Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of speech and language needs.
5. Implement screening procedures at designated grade levels, including preschool.
6. Develop and provide appropriate instructional and supportive communication related materials for students, staff, and
families.
7. Collaborate with families, educators, and outside agencies to support student progress and appropriate referrals.
8. Participate in TEAM evaluations and contribute to eligibility and program development.
9. Design and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student needs.
10. Work collaboratively with educators to integrate communication goals into classroom activities.
11. Provide consultation, training, and in-service opportunities for school staff.
12. Communicate regularly with families and staff regarding student progress, including quarterly reports.
13. Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, records, and service logs.
14. Manage caseload records, including referrals, screenings, and speech services.
15. Compile relevant case history information to inform evaluation and intervention.
16. Oversee and maintain speech and language equipment and materials.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned by Administration.
