Summary
Our growing business is searching for a qualified Materials Manager to oversee seamless material flow throughout or facility including all activities related to planning, logistics, and warehouse operations. If you are an experienced and competent individual with in-depth knowledge of Logistics, Warehousing, Planning, Inventory management systems and procedures, then we’re looking for you! In this role, your duties will include maintaining budgets, analyzing logistics flow, and material control.
Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. To excel in this role, material managers need in-depth knowledge of supply chain and budgeting processes. Ultimately, you are tasked with ensuring all our departments have adequate access to the materials they need.

Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to optimize site-wide material flow through application of lean principles, process management, material handling strategies, and automation.
- Participate in factory layout changes; develop material delivery methods to optimize material flow.
- Collaborate with technology leaders and manufacturing leaders to improve material and information flow.
- Working with management to identify supply needs.
- Have strong knowledge of lean manufacturing to recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity.
- Recording and assessing all materials quality, movement, and expenditure.
- Managing the distribution of supplies in the organization.
- Monitoring inventory levels and access to the material.
- Collaborate with enterprise technology leaders and manufacturing leaders to improve material and information flow.
- Optimize material delivery processes by analyzing workflow, staffing levels, space requirements, equipment requirements, storage and conveyance methods ensuring no defective materials.
- Work closely with other department leaders (Manufacturing, Finance, Strategic Purchasing, Quality, Sales and Marketing, Regulatory, Process Engineering) to communicate and coordinate cross-functional efforts and improvement activities.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team. Provide direction to analyze production issues, develop countermeasures, and issue resolution for material flow.
- Designing and maintaining department budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/logistics or relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience specializing in Logistics, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management.
- In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement, and distribution).
- Proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment while leveraging lean methodologies.
- Experience in a supervisory position related to materials planning, production control, purchasing, forecasting and/or master scheduling.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Skilled with the traditional as well as advanced methods used in inventory control.
- Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
- Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities.
