The district has openings for Personal Finance Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year at the Norristown Area High school
* Sign On Bonus for new to the district employees (In addition to Salary): $3,000
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Education, Finance, Economics, Education, or related field.
- Pa certification in Business, Computer, and Information Technology PK-12 (preferred) or Marketing/Distributive Education PK-12 or Family & Consumer Science PK-12 or Mathematics 7-12 or Social Studies 7-12
- Experience working with 7-12 students preferred
- Strong knowledge of personal finance and financial literacy concepts.
- Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and motivated.
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with staff and students.
- Ability to do job responsibilities with minimal supervision and ability to schedule time to meet deadlines.
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
- Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
Duties & Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction in personal finance and financial literacy aligned to Pennsylvania standards and district curriculum.
- Teach financial topics including budgeting, saving, banking, credit management, taxes, investing, insurance, and consumer decision-making.
- Create engaging learning experiences that connect financial concepts to real-world applications.
- Support implementation of the Pennsylvania financial literacy graduation requirement.
- Assist students in meeting Act 158 graduation pathway requirements through the use of Smart Futures career exploration and planning activities.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Utilize instructional technology and resources to support student learning.
- Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with department members, administrators, and instructional staff to support student success.
- Participate in professional development, PLCs, and district initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal..
Schedule:
Monday- Friday
7.5 hrs/day

experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10
