We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture across our asphalt paving, crushing, trucking, and maintenance operations. This leadership position is based out of Ottumwa, IA and is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations while partnering with field leaders to create a safe and productive work environment.Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee company safety programs and policies.
- Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
- Lead employee safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
- Monitor driver safety performance and support accident prevention initiatives.
- Maintain safety records, regulatory documentation, and training records.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and field presence.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- OSHA 30, MSHA, CSP, ASP, or related certifications are a plus.
- Ability to travel between company locations and work outdoors in varying conditions.
