Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor
Reports to: Director of R&D

The role has been created as a position to ensure all products produced at all facilities comply with customer and internal specifications. This data will be relayed to sales and production in various ways outlined below.
Available to work flexible hours, weekends
The primary roles and responsibilities of the position are outlined below:
- Oversee daily activities of Quality team for both day and night shift across all MA locations
- Assigning the Quality team schedule to ensure continuous coverage over day and night shift (24/5 with some weekends as needed)
- Reviewing and overseeing corrections for all daily paperwork within 7 days
- Working collaboratively and professionally to accomplish shared business objectives with other departments, such as Maintenance, Operations, and Housekeeping
- Be fully present in the facilities every day to support the team, observe opportunities, and ensure compliance with company and FDA requirements
- Organize and review all documentation for completeness and compliance
- Continuous daily sampling and testing of all production facilities
- Oversee calibration of all instruments and elevate concerns or issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance on instruments as scheduled
- Testing of all inbound fresh and frozen raw material
- Daily facility inspections to make sure sanitization criteria is met
- Conduct NIR test and record data during production cycle
- Relay production parameters to Director of R&D during production cycle
- Monitor production data for all New Bedford facilities to ensure product is within customer specifications, and effectively communicate deviations and recommended corrective actions
- COA creation for all lots
- Entering NIR data to maintain database of all results in Net Yield and on Monday.com
- Monthly parameter sheets are scanned into system for electronic database
- Sampling of product in inventory for customer or internal requests
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly quality forms and reports as assigned
- Intermediate computer skills necessary for this position
- Following and overseeing all established procedures for the department
- Sharing data throughout the day with the Director of R&D and on the NORPEL database
- Assists Director of R&D with onsite audits
- Monitors all aspects of sanitation, with specific focus on pre-operational, changeover, and post-operational sanitation cycles
- Leads orientation and annual food safety trainings, controls and documents in collaboration with the Director of R&D and Office Manager
Job Qualifications
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work a split schedule to support day shift and night shift each week on a rotating basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing production environment
- Ability to coach, train, and performance manage team members as needed
- Capable of keeping up with sample collection during the production cycle, and that input of data is done in a timely manner
- Ability to elevate and escalate important quality data and/or facility issues without hesitation
- Flexible schedule, as longer hours may be required during busier seasons or to cover staffing needs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills with diverse teams and levels
- Good technical understanding of FDA/FSMA regulations.
- Professional written and spoken English required, Bilingual Spanish preferred
Education, Experience and Certifications:
- Experience with Seafood HACCP, FSMA and current food related regulations
- Seafood HACCP and PCQI certification preferred, or ability to receive certification within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of demonstrated supervisory experience required
- 1-3 years combined experience in quality control required
