The School Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the school and is responsible for ensuring high levels of student achievement, safe and supportive learning environments, effective staff performance, and full compliance with Missouri DESE regulations and MSIP 6 accountability standards. The Principal leads continuous school improvement through data-driven decision-making, effective instructional leadership, staff development, and stakeholder engagement.

Supervises: School staff certified and non -certified as assigned
Pay Grade: Adminstrative Salary Schedule
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the primary instructional leader responsible for improving student academic outcomes.
- Ensure implementation fidelity of district curriculum aligned with Missouri Learning Standards.
- Lead classroom observation, feedback, and evaluation processes to improve instructional practice.
- Monitor instructional strategies, differentiation, and student engagement across all classrooms.
- Ensure equitable access to rigorous instruction for all students.

Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan (SIP).

Analyze state, district, and school-level data to guide instructional decisions and interventions.

Oversee assessment administration and ensure data integrity and compliance.

Lead MTSS processes and ensure timely interventions and progress monitoring.

Use data to establish measurable school goals and monitor progress toward district CSIP goals.

Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain high-quality staff.

Provide ongoing coaching, professional learning, and performance feedback.

Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable school culture.

Support induction and mentoring of new teachers and staff.

Ensure compliance with all district HR policies and DESE certification requirements.

Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive school environment.

Implement positive behavior interventions and restorative practices.

Ensure compliance with student discipline policies and reporting requirements.

Lead crisis response and emergency preparedness procedures.

Promote student attendance, engagement, and well-being.
- Oversee school budget implementation and resource allocation aligned to school goals.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, DESE, and Board policies.

Oversee building operations, safety, and facilities management.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation required for audits and accreditation.

Administer state and federal programs with fidelity.

Build strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and stakeholders.

Ensure consistent communication regarding school goals, student progress, and district initiatives.

Lead meaningful family engagement opportunities.

Serve as a positive representative of the school and district.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Oral and written communication skills
- Experience with curriculum development and curriculum design
- Ability to develop short and long range plans to improve student achievement
- Knowledge of student assessment and how to use the data in planning for improvement of instruction
- Possess knowledge of integrating technology into the teaching/learning process
- Ability to work with and galvanize a school team
- Management skills and demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, task completion and decision making
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Masters Degree in Education
- Possess or be eligible for Missouri Certification as an Elementary School Administrator
- Experience in a multi-cultural school population
- Three (3) years of school teaching experience preferred
