JOB SUMMARY
The Instructional Coach supports teacher growth and student achievement by providing job-embedded coaching, modeling high-quality instruction, and facilitating professional learning aligned to district goals. This position will have a strong emphasis on strengthening instructional practices in Math and ELA across all grade levels, while also supporting overall instructional improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
instructional Support
- Provide job-embedded coaching to teachers through co-planning, co-teaching, modeling lessons, and reflective conversations.
- Support teachers in implementing district curriculum, instructional strategies, and interventions with fidelity, with a priority focus on Math and ELA instruction.
- Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English language learners, and advanced learners.
Data-Driven Practices
- Support teachers in analyzing student performance data (formative, summative, and benchmark assessments), with a focus on Math and ELA achievement outcomes.
- Facilitate data team meetings to identify trends, set goals, and plan targeted instructional responses.
- Monitor progress and adjust coaching support based on ongoing data.
Professional Learning
- Plan and deliver high-quality professional development aligned to district priorities, with specific emphasis on evidence-based Math and ELA instructional practices.
- Facilitate PLCs focused on instructional strategies, assessment design, curriculum implementation, and common planning.
- Provide follow-up support to ensure PD transfers into classroom practice.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Collaborate with district curriculum teams to ensure alignment of standards, instructional materials, and assessments, particularly in Math and ELA.
- Support consistent use of instructional frameworks, rubrics, and district assessment tools.
- Help teachers integrate technology effectively to enhance learning.
School Improvement & Collaboration
- Partner with building administrators to support school improvement goals and instructional priorities tied to Math and ELA outcomes.
- Participate in school and district leadership meetings as requested.
- Serve as a resource for creating inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environments.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate coaching logs and documentation.
- Engage in continuous professional learning to strengthen coaching practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Expertise in Math and/or ELA instruction, curriculum, and assessment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading professional learning
- Strong communication, coaching, and collaboration skills
- Ability to analyze student achievement data and support data-informed instruction
- Ability to build trust with educators and work in a confidential coaching relationship
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate in assigned content area preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
