- Works with scheduled, pre-registered patients prior to service for outpatient oncology physicians clinic and infusion.
- Coordinates with interdepartmental personnel.
- Performs financial clearance function for every patient on assigned worklist within the department approved timeline and using workflow tools as designed.
- Effectively works to resolve any identified or outstanding issues for the patients they have financially cleared at any time during the revenue cycle.
- Works on any special projects or initiatives related to the workflow of patient access with a mind open to change and with a full awareness of the focus on patient and provider satisfaction.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3 year’s experience in healthcare-related industry or hospital Patient Accounting or Patient Access department, with an emphasis on customer service, point-of-service-collection, credit and collections, insurance verification or billing is preferred.
- Experience with public and multiple customers (internal and external), working under stress, meeting deadlines and performing daily assignments with consistent accuracy are standard requirements.
- $17.39-$28.40/hr depending on previous work experience.
