Norlite Nursing Center is seeking an Assistant Food Service Director to help lead a fast-paced healthcare dining team that serves residents with compassion, consistency, and professionalism. What You’ll Do
- Help oversee daily food service operations including production, service flow, and team coordination
- Support menu execution while ensuring therapeutic diets, texture modifications, and resident preferences are followed accurately
- Lead the afternoon shift, coach, and support dietary teammates through scheduling, training, and performance development
- Maintain compliance with sanitation, safety, and healthcare regulatory standards
- Partner with clinical and activities teams to support special events, celebrations, and resident-centered programming
- Monitor inventory, manage vendor ordering (Sysco, Reinhart, etc.), and maintain strong cost awareness
- Support department organization, documentation, and operational consistency
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership experience in a commercial kitchen, healthcare dining, or high-volume food service environment
- Strong culinary foundation and understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, professional kitchen culture
- Experience with scheduling, shift coordination, and team accountability
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where teamwork matters
- Experience with therapeutic diets or healthcare food service is a strong plus
