JOB GOAL:
To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 months

Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district's Personnel Evaluation Policy
Essential Functions
- Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each day and for determining that all doors and windows are secured and all lights (except those left on for safety reasons) are turned off
- Keep buildings and premises, including sidewalk, driveways, and play areas (if elementary) neat and clean at all times
- Ability to handle mechanical functions of the building
- Maintain a regular service schedule on all motors, mechanical equipment, ballasts, lights
- Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity
- Shovel, plow, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as necessary
- Check daily to insure that all exit doors are operating properly
- Dust furniture according to weekly schedule
- Sweep and vacuum classrooms daily
- Able to wet/dry strip wax on floors, required for yearly maintenance
- Able to wax floors for yearly maintenance
- Clean corridors during the day as often as is required
- Scrub and disinfect toilet floors daily, clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains
- Wash all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice a year and more frequently if necessary
- Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation
- Clean all chalkboards/whiteboards at least once a week
- Move furniture and equipment within buildings as required for various activities as directed by the principal
- Make such minor building repairs as he/she is capable
- Report major repairs needed promptly to the building principal through maintenance request
- Perform such yard keeping chores as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe, attractive condition
- Report immediately to the building principal any damage to school property
- Remain on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his attendance required by the principal
- If an elementary building, perform weekly playground inspections (with paperwork and maintenance as required)
- Perform weekend building check including freezers, HVAC, doors, and lights
- Will be in a scheduled rotation with Senior High for weekend activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory)
- Position will occasionally require lifting 60 pounds or more
- Self-directed - can organize own time and tasks
- Ability to read and follow directions on cleaning supplies
