What You’ll Do
As a Service Clerk, you will be responsible for accuracy, communication, and follow‑through across shipping, receiving, and billing processes, including:
- Verify that packing lists are accurate and complete, including heat numbers, tag numbers, and piece counts
- Review documentation for discrepancies and communicate findings with the warehouse supervisor and sales team
- Invoice customers accurately and timely for materials shipped
- Enter and maintain data in the Metalware system, including billing, credit/debit memos, and returns
- Assist with the receiving process, ensuring paperwork from drivers or railcars matches office documentation
- Verify receiving reports and stock transfer forms, resolving discrepancies with warehouse personnel
- Communicate returns promptly to ensure proper material handling and system updates
- Initiate and complete customer problem reports, helping identify opportunities for process improvement
- Support other shifts or duties as needed, based on operational needs
