Nordstar Media has been creating top-tier publications and design work for over two decades. Our team produces USA Hockey Magazine, Minnesota Hockey Journal, Pull USA (USA Clay Target League, and Duluth Northstar Port, and more. We also create a wide variety of both print and digital assets for a diverse client base.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a hungry, high-energy Junior Graphic Designer who is ready to jump off the bench and into the action. We don’t just need someone to move pixels; we need a self-starter with a high motor who is genuinely excited to build a career with our small, fun team. While you'll handle the vital fundamentals—like recurring layouts and preflighting ads—you’ll also have the chance to flex your creative muscles on fresh projects. If you have a "no task too small" attitude, you’ll fit right in with our roster.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce layouts for magazines, newsletters, and other publications.
- Create infographics, presentations, and other marketing materials.
- Collaborate with the editorial and creative teams to maintain visual consistency and brand quality.
- Prepare files for print and digital publishing.
- Contribute to creative concepting for new projects.
- Assist with website updates, HTML formatting, and social media graphics (if applicable).
- Explore and implement AI tools into the creative workflow (as appropriate).
Qualifications
- You're a go-getter first and foremost, eager to learn and hungry for the next project.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Bonus Skills (not required but a plus)
- Website design and basic HTML
- Illustration
- Animation/Video graphics design
- Experience with social media graphics
- Familiarity with AI creative tools
