Job Summary
We are seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion to work with seniors and have a love of food, compassion, and mindset to improve menus based on client preferences. You will be cooking breakfast, lunch, and supper for 22 residents and 5 staff members. Nordic Woods uses a rotating menu. This position is working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), from 6:30am to 6pm, and is every other holiday. This is a one staff-member position. Strong organizational skills and time management is needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with care staff to maintain an efficient workflow during service hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Provide support as needed for special events.
Requirements
- Dependability in working your assigned shifts.
- Great personality, able to visit with senior residents.
