POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Cost Accountant will be the lead Finance individual on site and will ensure that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the organization. The Senior Cost Accountant will be a key player in the monthly/quarterly/annual close and internal reporting processes, performing functions related to corporate accounting, with specific focus on accounting for inventory, cost accounting, cost of goods sold and gross margin analysis. The Senior Cost Accountant will embrace and execute the Company’s values and collaborate across departments to actively support the Company’s goals.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible to ensure the accounting process and compliance are followed at our Nordic, Grand Rapids facility.
- Responsible for participating in aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual financial closing process as assigned.
- Perform journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy
- Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and related monthly financial statement analysis, including variance analysis and explanation.
- Responsible for inventory accounting practices, including:
- Month-end inventory reconciliations.
- Standard cost maintenance support and Bill-of-Material audits.
- Inventory cycle count support and physical inventories.
- Cost variance analysis, including purchase price variance (PPV) analysis.
- Inventory reserve analysis.
- Improvements and maintenance of internal controls over inventory.
- Support Accounts Payable and Receivable processes at the plant, as needed.
- Assist the Controller with warranty accounting and reserve analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and capital requests.
- Assist with intercompany balances and reconciliations.
- Assist the Controller with other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field required.
Experience: 3 years of relevant accounting experience, manufacturing environment preferred. Proficient in inventory and cost accounting concepts. Public accounting experience.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Certificates & Licenses: CPA preferred
