Bartender

Nord Social is Midland's newest neighborhood bar & social club that opened to the public in early September has been growing at an exciting rate, and that's where you come in. Nord Social was created as a Scandinavian-inspired third place designed for all seasons—from a cozy winter refuge to a lively summer spot. We are searching to continue building our diverse & talented bar staff from the ground up, made of passionate, creative, hardworking & adaptable individuals with a priority in strong hospitality, customer service, and bartending experience to host and heighten the guest experience in our vision of building a cozy, welcoming space for everyone in our community.

With TVs for the big game or your favorite comfort tv show, Nord Social is Midland’s go-to spot to connect with friends and loved ones; offering to the community a space to host a single point-of-sale operation with batched cocktails, beer and a shot tradition, craft draft beer, light snacks, and a bring-your-own-food open concept. We are thrilled to begin building our team of incredible people, to curate a space for incredible people.

What We’re Looking For

• 1 years of Bartending Experience

• Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills; ability to build genuine relationships with guests and staff

• Advanced knowledge of Craft Beers, Craft Cocktails, and Non-Alcoholic options, with ability to communicate with guests and offer menu items based upon guest tastes/needs

• Intermediate knowledge of Classic Cocktail Builds, Techniques, and Glassware

• Experience in Square POS Systems are preferred, but not required

• ServSafe/TAM Certifications preferred; but not required

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Daily Responsibilities

The Bartenders will play a crucial role in maintaining the standard for our guest and social club member experience set by the ownership and management team by exhibiting behavior that is of high hospitality standards that builds relationships with people who visit Nord Social. In addition, bartenders will be a passionate, dependable, and trusted ally to the team's overall success while being responsible for:

-Foster a welcoming and inclusive space by treating everyone consistently with respect and friendliness, serve as a regular and consistent face of Nord Social within the establishment and community, itself

-Greeting & assisting guests at POS & take orders accurately, while making proper menu recommendations based upon guest expectations

-Process payments and tips within POS

-Fulfill guests orders of craft cocktails and N/A mocktails, draft beers, social tonics, while preparing and garnish according to recipe guide

-Maintain cleanliness behind bar and on floor while practicing proper health code standards

-Wash, dry & organize glassware

-Maintain the everyday atmosphere within Nord Social (Live TV events, music, other television shows, etc.)

-Verify identification and age requirements of guests partaking in alcoholic activities

-Monitor consumption and prevent overserving

Additional Expectations

Be a strong, dependable team player to work alongside management and other staff

Maintain quality control of all beverages and excellence

Be an independent self-starter and be responsible for all opening/closing tasks or daily responsibilities in a given shift

Assist in any prep or stocking as needed by management

Maintain communication with management for low stock items or operational conflicts

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks

Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately

Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds & change kegs when needed

Shift Requirements:

Available 15-30 hours per week

Available on holidays and weekends

6-13 Hour Shifts Available
