Inside Sales Representative – Lumber & Building Materials

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inside Sales Representative with a background in construction, lumber, building materials, fencing, decking, or related industries. This position is responsible for assisting walk-in customers, contractors, builders, and wholesale accounts while providing outstanding service and product knowledge.
The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, solving customer problems, and helping customers find the right materials for their projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist retail and wholesale customers with product selection and order processing
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, and repeat customers
- Prepare quotes, estimates, and sales orders
- Answer customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Coordinate with yard and delivery teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Maintain product knowledge on lumber, siding, decking, fencing, and related building materials
- Follow up on quotes and opportunities to help grow sales
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to provide excellent customer service
Qualifications Required
- 2 years of sales or customer service experience in:
- Lumber
- Building materials
- Construction
- Decking
- Fencing
- Roofing
- Hardware or related industries
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and experience with sales/order entry systems
- Ability to read material lists, estimates, and construction-related documents
Preferred
- Existing relationships within the Atlanta construction community
- Knowledge of cedar, cypress, pressure-treated lumber, decking, or siding products
- Experience working with contractors, builders, or wholesale accounts
