Purchasing Specialists are responsible for providing program support through the sales and program life cycle. The candidate will be required to support customers and make supply chain decisions from the onset of a request for quote to the conclusion of the order.The candidate will be required to utilize the company’s ERP system to provide real time information to key account customers, participate in monthly sales meetings, and track orders to document on time performance.Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Process customer requests and prepare competitive quotations based on deadlines.Interface with Program Management to assure compliance to customer orders as necessaryProvide acknowledgement of orders to our customersVendor NegotiationsDetermining supply chain source to purchase from (sourcing)General cradle to grave order managementReviewing the sales order for accuracy after it is generated in ERP systemAssist in coordinating with operations to provide customer with real time order trackingRespond to customer follow up calls to track status on open quotationsEscalate issues which cannot be easily resolvedResolve pricing and delivery issues with purchase orders as they ariseAssist export compliance by ensuring proper documentation is furnished by customer when receiving an order i.e. end use statementSupport Quality Assurance internal audit activitiesFollow all relevant QMS (Quality Management System) Procedures and Work InstructionsStrategic decision making based on profitability and requirementsRisk management skills throughout the entire projectQualifications:Prior material sourcing and project management experienceMS office suite proficient, advanced Excel proficiency level desiredFocused, motivated and organized individualAbility to handle multiple projects and deadlinesDetail oriented and great degree of communications skillsPrior use of Pentagon 2000 a plus but not requiredAbility to read and understand blue prints is of benefit but not required Preference will be made to candidates with prior experience in the Defense industryCompany DescriptionSupporting domestic and international customers providing spare parts in support of Military Equipment.
