About the Position
The Norblad Hotel & Astor Suites is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry Attendant to join our team.
This position offers 32–40 hours per week, with hours split between our Laundry and Housekeeping departments. The regular schedule is Wednesday through Sunday:
- Wednesday & Thursday: Laundry
- Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Housekeeping
Our housekeeping team plays an essential role in creating a positive guest experience. We take pride in providing clean, comfortable, and welcoming accommodations, and we're looking for someone who takes the same pride in their work.
This position is responsible for processing laundry, cleaning guest rooms, maintaining public areas, and helping keep our hotel clean, organized, and ready for our guests.
Responsibilities
Laundry
- Wash, dry, fold, organize, and stock linens, towels, and other laundry items.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area.
- Monitor linen supplies and keep housekeeping areas properly stocked.
- Safely operate commercial laundry machines and related equipment.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing laundry and cleaning products.
Housekeeping
- Thoroughly clean and prepare guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing bathrooms, and replenishing guest amenities.
- Inspect rooms to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards before guests arrive.
- Clean and maintain public areas, including hallways, stairwells, lobby areas, and shared restrooms.
- Maintain clean and organized housekeeping closets and storage spaces.
- Safely operate vacuums and other housekeeping equipment.
- Properly use, label, and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hotel safety procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, or safety hazards promptly.
- Assist with moving linens, supplies, and furniture as needed.
- Work efficiently and stay organized to ensure guest rooms are cleaned and ready on schedule.
- Communicate professionally and work cooperatively with other members of the hotel team.
Qualifications
Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable, punctual, and dependable.

- Be able to work independently while also being a supportive team member.
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Be available to work Wednesday through Sunday.
- Be comfortable working weekends and holidays.
- Be comfortable being on your feet and physically active throughout the shift.
- Be able to regularly bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items as part of the job.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be comfortable working with cleaning products while following proper safety procedures.
- Be committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest service.
- Be comfortable working in both laundry and housekeeping as part of the position.
