What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Welder position at Nor-Fab Manufacturing Inc?
Who We Are: Since 1994 Nor-Fab Manufacturing has been providing high quality sheet metal, machined products, and services for a variety of industries. Our dedicated staff and fabrication professionals are the cornerstone of our company.
Welding experience required. Ability to read a blueprint and general understanding of sheet metal manufacturing is required. You will need to pass a weld test during the interview process.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding on various metal components
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal parts
- Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to meet specifications
- Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, and mechanical tools safely during fabrication and assembly processes
- Follow ASME codes & standards for welding quality and safety compliance in manufacturing environments
- Assist with pipe threading, soldering, machining, and mechanical assembly tasks as needed for project completion
Skills
- Proven experience in construction sites or manufacturing facilities involving welding operations
- Expertise in MIG welding with a strong focus on quality control
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, and other fabrication machinery
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding safety and quality assurance
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
- Experience operating cranes and forklifts (certified preferred)
- Strong understanding of sheet metal work, machining processes, and assembly procedures
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working on construction sites or manufacturing floors
