What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Staff (Drivers) position at NOR Day Academy?
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Staff to join our team in La Mesa, California. Our day program is designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities through behavior modification techniques. As a Direct Support Staff member and driver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our participants by providing transportation, personalized care, and support. Hourly pay is dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting individuals to and from the day program daily.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, and meal preparation.
- Implement behavior modification plans and support individuals in achieving their goals.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence and self-esteem.
- Document and report on the progress and behavior of individuals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans as needed.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in a related field is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Valid driver's license for those hired on as a driver. Driving experience and clean driving record required.
