What are the responsibilities and job description for the GCCS Field Operations Manager position at Nopetro Energy?
The GCCS Field Operations Manager will oversee the critical "front end" of our Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production pipeline across a multi-site portfolio. This is a dynamic leadership role where you will bridge the gap between initial site development and long-term operational excellence. This role requires a unique blend of high-level stakeholder management and "boots-on-the-ground" technical expertise.
You will manage the daily performance and optimization of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) at various stages of their lifecycle. From overseeing new well-field construction projects to fostering high-level partnerships with local landfill owners, your work ensures the steady flow of feedstock for our existing and future RNG upgrading facilities.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Coordinate well field operations across multiple locations, balancing resources and priorities to ensure all sites meet landfill gas composition recovery and uptime targets.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for local landfill management and site owners. Build collaborative relationships to align gas collection goals with landfill daily operations and long-term cell development.
- Coordinate wellfield expansions with their daily tipping and cell-closure schedules to ensure mutual operational success.
- Manage the transition of sites from development and construction (drilling, lateral installation, and commissioning) to steady-state production through working partnerships with the landfill owners.
- Lead the tuning of wellheads and collector systems to maximize methane concentration while strictly controlling nitrogen and oxygen levels to prevent RNG plant upsets.
- Lead pump maintenance and leachate recovery from individual gas extraction wells to ensure the maximum amount of perforated pipe is available for landfill gas capture.
- Implement a rigorous daily inspection program for wellhead components, including the repair of air leaks, replacement of worn orifice plates, clearing of blocked flex-hoses and air lines supporting landfill gas and leachate recovery.
- Lead monthly maintenance related to the leachate management system and track liquids recovery to ensure condensate sumps and transmission lines are free of "watering-out" issues to maintain consistent vacuum across the field.
- Oversee capital projects, including well expansions and system upgrades, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to technical specifications.
- Ensure all sites strictly adhere to all applicable Title V air permits, NSPS standards, and OSHA safety protocols.
