Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA/QC Supervisor to oversee and supervise quality assurance and control processes in a refinery or industrial setting. The ideal candidate will hold an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and possess strong expertise in visual weld inspections and mechanical connection verifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement quality control procedures, inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment.
- Coordinate quality control inspection schedule with other project schedules.
- Provide necessary interface with customer's inspectors on all aspects of quality.
- Perform material receipt inspections for work areas in conjunction with material control staff
- Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work
- Perform system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications.
- Maintain work performance records, inspection records and other related items to ensure correctness.
- Perform mechanical connection inspections and verifications
- Supervise and coordinate QA/QC activities across multiple work fronts, ensuring adherence to project quality plans and procedures.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and generate reports for non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and safety teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with refinery-specific QC standards and procedures.
- Support audits and client inspections, providing technical expertise and documentation as required.
- Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action.
- Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customer, subcontractor, vendor, craft and NCC jobsite personnel.
Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – active certification required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of refinery QA/QC experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes (e.g., ASME, API, AWS).
- Proficient in visual weld inspection techniques and tools.
- Experience with mechanical connection verification in industrial environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Additional Notes:
This is a short-term contract for approximately one month. The schedule will be 10 hours, 6 days a week. This will be onsite at in a refinery environment.
