Pay Rate: $18.50–$19.00 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking dependable and attentive Mental Health Monitors/Sitters (MHM/S) to support patient safety in the Mental Health Unit . The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients who may be at risk of self-harm or harm to others and reporting observations to licensed nursing staff.

Important: This position is assigned exclusively to Lower Buckeye Jail. Staff will not be required to float to other jail locations.

Available Schedules

PRN: 2 day shifts and 1 night shift available.

WOC: 2 day shifts and 5 night shifts available. Candidates must commit to three 12-hour shifts per week for a minimum of 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or identified as being at risk of harming themselves or others.

Observe patients through direct visual or video monitoring, including monitoring multiple screens as required.

Promptly report patient activity, behavioral changes, and safety concerns to the licensed nurse.

Accurately and legibly complete all required documentation in a timely manner.

Document relevant changes in patient activity in the patient chart as directed.

Follow instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit.

Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance with facility procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of six months of clerical or support services experience in a medical setting.

Experience monitoring multiple screens, observing patients, and reporting findings.

Strong attention to detail and observation skills.

Ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions, and maintain accurate documentation.

Reliability and the ability to work assigned 12-hour shifts.

Compensation

$18.50–$19.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
