Position we are currently looking to fill:
-Part Time Assistant Teacher or Full-time Lead Teacher
Our goal is to provide the highest quality programs for children possible. We also work towards providing the highest quality work environment for our teachers. The Nook Daycare is an individualized learning experience where children, parents, and teachers grow together to instill children with a love of learning.
Ideally, we are seeking candidates with a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Child Care experience is also a valuable asset. Experience working with the Creative and Reggio Emilia curriculums is a must! Preference is given to persons with experience in a licensed early childhood center as well as applicants having Early Childhood Education. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, focusing on literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and overall childhood development
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and effective classroom management strategies
- Support individualized learning needs, including working with children with autism or disabilities, ensuring each child receives personalized attention
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized classroom that encourages exploration and independence in line with Montessori or other early childhood philosophies
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any behavioral or developmental concerns
- Supervise daily activities such as circle time, play-based learning, and toddler care routines to promote active engagement and social skills
- Collaborate with team members to develop curriculum enhancements and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including childhood development theories and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with autism or disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Experience in lesson planning for literacy education and math activities tailored to early learners
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently while fostering a nurturing environment
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous; CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred
- Passion for working with children and commitment to fostering their growth through engaging educational experiences
