A well-established European automation company is continuing its expansion into the U.S., building out its team in the Buffalo area.
Following the hire of their first PLC Programmers, they are now looking for a Service Technician to support high-end automated systems used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
This is a key hire for someone who will act as the technical link between the customer and engineering teams, taking ownership of service, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities across complex automation lines.
You'll start with hands-on training, then step into a role with real autonomy and direct client exposure.
What you'll be doing
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers post-installation, handling service requests and technical issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on automated bottling and packaging lines (on-site and remotely)
- Support commissioning, start-up, and validation/testing of machinery
- Debug PLC/software issues and work closely with internal teams to implement solutions
- Manage service tickets end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
- Travel to client sites for diagnostics, maintenance, and after-sales support
- Work closely with U.S. and European engineering teams
What we're looking for
- Experience with Siemens (TIA Portal / Step 7), Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs
- Strong troubleshooting mindset; able to diagnose issues across software and equipment
- Comfort working directly with clients in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Willingness to travel ~20-30%
