Duties
- Slice and prepare deli meats, cheeses, and other food items with precision using professional slicers and knives
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Assist customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about products, and offering recommendations for upselling
- Operate POS systems, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Manage food inventory levels, restock displays, and ensure proper labeling of products
- Uphold sanitation standards by cleaning slicers, workstations, and utensils regularly
- Support food preparation tasks such as wrapping, packaging, and arranging deli items for display or sale
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation within a quick service or fast food restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper handling techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems - cashiering experience preferred
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to perform basic math for transactions, inventory counts, and portion control
- Previous restaurant or grocery store experience with a focus on deli or food service is highly desirable
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
