Local company is seeking a Reporting & Data Specialist that will be in office-
Responsibility
Create and send accurate recycling and invoice reports to customers on a monthly basis, with quality review and management approval prior to distribution.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand the reporting needs and goals of each customer
- Prepare waste and recycling reports based on operational data from Salesforce
- Prepare invoicing reports based on accounting data
- Prepare specialty/customized reports for specific customers (e.g., sustainability metrics, material breakdowns, landfill diversion rates)
- Send finalized reports to customers monthly following management approval
- Flag data inconsistencies or unusual patterns and investigate discrepancies before reports go out
- Collaborate with the quality control and sales teams to ensure report accuracy
- Grow into analyzing trends over time and providing insights that improve customer service and business development
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills & Traits
- Strong math aptitude — able to follow and apply unit conversions (lbs to tons, etc.) and catch when numbers don’t make sense
- Excellent Excel skills — comfortable working within existing templates and understanding formulas
- Detail-oriented — accuracy matters; our reports go directly to customers and must align with invoicing
- Naturally curious — will question a data pattern that looks off rather than just passing it through
- Resourceful and self-sufficient — will exhaust available resources before escalating; brings a proposed solution, not just a problem
- Strong problem-solving mindset — if something doesn’t look right, they dig in and figure out why
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Background in logistics, trucking, or waste/recycling industry (helpful for picking up terminology faster)
- Experience as a data analyst or in a reporting-focused role
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM/operational systems
Education & Experience
A degree is preferred, but candidates without one who demonstrate strong analytical ability and relevant experience will be considered.
