About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented RFP Proposal Manager with experience in the transportation industry, particularly in school bus and special needs transportation services. This role will lead the development and submission of high-quality proposals for government and educational contracts, ensuring our company continues to grow its portfolio of school district and public sector clients.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams — including operations, compliance, finance, and legal — to produce compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full RFP lifecycle — from opportunity identification to final submission — for specialized transportation and school bus contracts.
- Monitor and manage bid opportunities on BidNet Direct, SAM.gov, and Department of Education portals on a daily basis.
- Build and maintain relationships with state and local education departments, school districts, and procurement officers to track upcoming opportunities.
- Coordinate inputs from multiple departments to create compliant, persuasive proposals.
- Maintain a centralized content library and ensure consistency across all RFP responses.
- Track proposal performance and drive continuous improvement in response strategies.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in proposal management or government contracting, ideally within the transportation or logistics sector.
- Hands-on experience using BidNet Direct, SAM.gov, and state or Department of Education procurement systems.
- Strong understanding of public sector bidding processes and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple RFPs simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication and analytical abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
