bout the Role
We are looking for a hands-on RV Technical Installation Specialist to join our team. This is a field and shop-based role focused on installing, wiring, troubleshooting, and commissioning our DC air conditioning systems, electrical components, and related off-grid equipment in RVs, vans, and overlanding builds.
This is not an office job. You will spend your days working with tools, wiring, batteries, and HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install Nomadic Cooling DC air conditioning units (rooftop and split systems) and related components
- Design and install RV electrical systems, including lithium battery banks, distribution, wiring, and protection devices
- Perform complete system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and HVAC systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues with lithium battery systems, inverters, charge controllers, DC distribution, and air conditioning units
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and installation manuals
- Work efficiently in customer vehicles, shop bays, and occasionally on-site
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal team members about technical findings and recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with RV electrical systems, including lithium battery installations, DC wiring, fusing, and distribution
- Experience working with HVAC systems (preferably DC or RV air conditioning)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work comfortably with hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and solve technical problems in the field
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Victron, Battle Born, or similar lithium/off-grid systems
- Familiarity with CAN bus, control panels, or smart RV systems
- Previous experience in RV, van conversion, or automotive electrical work
- Basic understanding of refrigerant systems and recovery (EPA certification a plus)
