Baker / Assistant Baker

Nomada Bakery is hiring part-time and full-time bakers and baker assistants to join our production team.

Nomada is an independently owned bakery and café located at Heritage Station in Huntington. We make our products from scratch and are known for our croissants, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, breads, and Latin American–inspired baked goods.

This is a hands-on bakery production position. Depending on experience, employees may assist with preparation and assembly or independently complete assigned recipes and production tasks. We can train someone with strong food-service experience and attention to detail, although professional baking experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, frostings, and other components from established recipes
• Scale and measure ingredients accurately
• Shape, assemble, bake, and finish bakery products
• Prepare croissants, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, breads, and other items
• Follow daily and weekly production lists
• Monitor baking times, temperatures, quality, and consistency
• Portion, label, date, rotate, and properly store ingredients and finished products
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace
• Wash dishes and complete routine kitchen cleaning
• Communicate with coworkers about production needs and priorities
• Assist with other bakery and kitchen tasks as needed

• Professional baking, pastry, restaurant, or food-production experience
• Dependability and punctuality
• Ability to follow recipes and production procedures accurately
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work efficiently with your hands
• Willingness to learn Nomada’s recipes and production methods
• Ability to accept direction and work as part of a team
• Availability for weekends and holidays

Nomada is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bakery employees typically begin around 7:00 a.m., although some production shifts may begin earlier when needed. Shifts may end between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. depending on production and closing needs.

We can consider applicants seeking approximately 20 hours per week as well as applicants seeking up to 40 hours per week. As a small business, we try to be flexible when arranging schedules while ensuring that production needs are covered.
