Position: Plant Maintenance Technician
Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Maintenance Superintendent and Management
Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on mining equipment and machinery in our processing plant. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment to ensure that all machinery is running efficiently. Work will include welding and fabrication, rigging, operating lifting equipment, and basic electrical wiring.
Pay:
The estimated annual pay is $80,000 - $95,000 including overtime on a 2:1 weekly shift schedule.
Hourly pay ranges from $25 - $33/hr.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on mining equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment, identify necessary repairs, and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, such as bearings, gears, and electrical components
- Maintain and repair conveyor systems, pumps, compressors, and other equipment as needed
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and repairs
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs completed, parts used, and time spent on each job
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working on equipment
- Assist with training of new employees as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Heavy Equipment Experience
- Basic mechanical abilities.
- Demonstrate communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrable ability to utilize time efficiently and productively.
- Strong desire to learn other aspects of the plant.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, preferably in a mining or heavy equipment environment is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills
- Welding certification is highly preferred
- 30 CFR Part 46 training desired
Physical Requirements:
- Working in dusty and noisy environments
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 75 pounds
- Comfortable with heights up to 65 feet
