Nomad Proppant Services is seeking a Full Time Plant Foreman in Big Spring, TX. Nomad Proppant Services is a mobile frac sand mining company that is rapidly expanding and is looking for employees that want to grow in their careers. Summary:
The Plant Foreman assists in managing the performance of day-to-day operational activities which may include
pit and/or plant production (QC, wash plant, etc.) as well as plant and mobile equipment maintenance while
maintaining crew moral. The Foreman also assists in training and developing a safe and efficient hourly
workforce through use of the company’s safety policies and procedures, MSHA and other regulations,
continuous improvement, meeting production goals, quality control and other functions as assigned by
management. The Foreman controls the product flow through the plant via the PLC (Programmable Logic
Controller). The Foreman must have a thorough understanding of all equipment automation systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift.
- Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the shift operators.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicates with Plant Manager regarding production, personnel, loadout, and material contents frequently.
- Oversees the work of and communicates with his team to ensure everyone knows what their job duties and assignments are at the start of the shift, and addresses any issues and concerns in a positive, productive and respectful manner to accomplish safe and efficient productivity always.
- Communicates with Maintenance any issues or concerns as soon as possible to avoid downtime and/or equipment failure. This includes any welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Works to resolve issues arising with material feed and issues involving production.
- Completes and documents all pre-shift inspections.
- Controls product flow through the plant via PLC with temperatures, moisture levels, and processing rates in mind always.
- Report on reliable attendance and satisfactory work performance of all hourly pit employees to Plant Manager.
- Ensure that all hourly employees under his/her area of responsibility receive competent task training to safely perform job duties and all training is correctly documented in a timely manner.
- Assist management to investigate and determine root cause and find a collective resolution to all incidents and safety concern reports.
- Adjusts as needed to meet production levels and product specifications.
- Anticipates and troubleshoots significant changes in equipment functions as well as production rates.
- Constantly evaluate all processes and procedures and give recommendations to optimize operation.
- Maintains and neat and orderly working area free of obstacles and/or trash and in an organized fashion.
- Strict adherence to all safety regulations during the performance of the position, and reports safety issues observed immediately to Plant Manager.
- Ensure preventative maintenance of all required components and equipment is being done and assigned maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular site and equipment inspections to ensure all safety, maintenance, and plant housekeeping items are addressed correctly and timely, and all components are safe, lubricated and in proper working conditions for shift operation.
- Evaluate processes and procedures and offer recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring safety and housekeeping at all times under MSHA guidelines within the work area.
- Assists with general housekeeping when plant is shutdown.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
- Two years of experience in the mining industry preferred
- 30 CFR Part 46 training desired
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the production facility.
- Working in dusty and noisy environments
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 75 pounds
- Comfortable with heights up to 65 feet
