Summary of Duties
Responsible for supervising the day to day clinical activities in accordance with current standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the Specialty Care Assisted Living Facility (SCALF) and as may be required by the Administrator/Executive Director to ensure that quality care is maintained at all times.
Essential Job Functions
1. Provide clinical oversight to the SCALF.
2. Ensure assessments and care plans are updated and completed timely according to state regulations and Noland policy, and are appropriately communicated to resident, family/staff.
3. Recommend policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions. Implement approved policies and procedures.
4. Assist with the development, education and assure follow-thru with facility policy and procedures.
5. Make written and oral reports and recommendations as necessary/required concerning the clinical operation of the facility.
6. Direct behaviors of employees by use of observation. Take immediate corrective action, to include counseling and/or appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
7. Develop methods for coordination with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
8. Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing Quality Assurance Program.
9. Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
10. Evaluate residents to determine appropriate level of care of admission, transfer and discharge, report problem areas and assist with the coordination of this process.
11. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
12. Schedule daily rounds on all shifts to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met in accordance with the resident’s request.
13. Participate in the interviewing and selection of residents for admission to the facility, including screenings.
14. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Schedule physician visits as necessary.
15. Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled with appropriate technique utilized.
16. Develop and implement procedures for the safe operation of all equipment, including competency evaluation of employees.
17. Provide care as necessary.
18. Perform special projects, other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education and Experience
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid Alabama license as a registered nurse.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

5. Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
6. Must be able to walk/stand 75% of the day.
