What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Coordinator position at Noland Health Services?
Summary of Duties
Responsible for business development for community business lines. Direct admission process between potential residents, family members, physicians, other referral sources, and the facility staff to efficiently evaluate and admit residents.
Essential Job Functions
1. Develop relationships with community business referral sources. 2. Screen/assess all appropriate referrals for admission and discusses potential for admission with the staff. 3. Direct and process admissions, and verify payor source. 4. Coordinate admissions with necessary staff to ensure a smooth flow of information and activity. 5. Serve as initial point-of-contact for community based referrals/inquires. 6. Secure and process admission agreements. 7. Handle referrals, tours, and telephone inquires. 8. Ensure an adequate supply of marketing material is maintained. 9. Work with Business Office to ensure accurate compilation of daily occupancy reports, posting of data on occupancy board and maintenance of an exact census count by payor source. 10. Maintain an accurate record of available beds. 11. Conduct rounds and provide information to appropriate staff to ensure room readiness and maintain facility aesthetics. 12. Obtain authorization from third-party payors as needed. 13. Monitor admissions/census results against established goals and recommend future plans and programs and/or changes in it to the Executive Director. 14. Monitor completion of all referral tracking systems and reports required by Executive Director and Home Office. 15. Assume additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned or needed.Education & Experience
Bachelors in Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum of one (1) year experience in admission process and understanding of payor sources and criteria for long term care admissions required. Long term care/skilled nursing admissions experience preferred.
